Comprised of Thrive Alabama clients and other community members, the Community Advisory Board's mission is to assist in the comprehensive care of our clients and the infected and affected community at large. This mission is attained by assisting Thrive Alabama with HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) prevention, outreach, education, and testing; advising Thrive leadership on the special needs of patients; and by serving as advocates for the clients of Thrive Alabama.
The iAdvocate Project is an advocacy campaign administered by Thrive Alabama to bring much-needed attention to HIV-related issues. The major focus of this project centers on the education and training of advocates on relevant issues, engaging community stakeholders on these issues and empowering our clients to affect positive change in their communities through their advocacy. This program is funded through a generous grant made possible by the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
