We’ll Help You Win That Battle
The Den is a free intensive outpatient program (IOP) designed to treat minority men who have sex with men (MSM) between over the age of 18 who are struggling with substance abuse issues and/or mental health issues. It's important you know that you're not alone and we have the passion and resources to help you battle the obstable holding you back.
Free Services Save You Thousands
The Den provides group therapy, individual therapy, case management, and transportation services. Behavioral health services with a counselor and a psychiatrist are also available to the young men who meet the criteria of the target population even if they do not have substance abuse issues. Similar IOPs can cost thousands to the patient, but The Den is funded through a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA) so there is NO fee for services.
Thanks to the generosity of the Church of the Nativity, people in need of detox before coming into The Den program can also receive services.
It Feels Like Home
Traditional treatment settings can sometimes be uncomfortable for MSMs. The Den was created to offer services to these young men in a safe, comfortable environment. Our group sessions are held in a room with sofas, warm colors, and a home-like atmosphere. Social events such as movie nights give participants time to make new, deep friendships. Meals are also provided. Services are available at both our Huntsville and Florence locations.
